Render 2-D and 3-D molecular structures and spectra from open chemical data files and create or modify chemical structures via a chemical editor.

Molecular display and chemical editing features can be utilized across course sections and course activities, including assignment prompts, forum posts, and quiz question and answers. An Atto editor plugin enables users to sketch and edit molecules, or upload existing chemical molecule and spectrum files.

Molecules rendered with the JSmol library allow for user interaction (zoom, rotate, pan, etc.) and can be customized with custom commands.

Specific display options are available for .mol, .jdx, and .pdb file types.

This was recently presented at the US Moodle Moot 2016 and we would want to have this plugin approved. This is currently being used at our university and it has been tested on default Moodle.

Some things to note, this is a plugin set that requires both filter_chemrender and atto_chemrender. How do we link that dependency in the plugin database?

Thanks Jonathan for sharing the filter with the Moodle community. I was able to successfully test it in combination with the Chemrender filter. I found the implementation clean and easy to follow, well done on that. I've hit a bug with the rendering of the Atto popup window that I reported to your tracker. Hope that can be addressed in an updated version of the plugin.

You are cleared to land now, welcome to the Plugins directory!
