Hi there. This is related to Moodle 2 Conditional Activities and first of all thanks to Sam for fixing the "Require view" in resources smile
Just what is the difference between setting a grade condition in "Restrict availablity" and setting an activity completion condition whereby they have to have passed with a certain grade?
Under which circumstances would you use one and which the other?
For example: I want a student only to access a lesson after they have obtained 40% in a quiz.
I could set the grade condition to be 40% obtained in the quiz when I set up Restrict availablity in the lesson
OR
I could set the completion tracking of the quiz to be "require grade", then go to the gradebook and set the pass grade for the quiz to be 40% - then go to the Lesson and set activity completion condition for the quiz to "complete and passed"
I'm not sure I get the nuances herethoughtful
Have I missed something out?

Moodle in English -> Wiki -> old Moodle wiki v new wiki 2.0

Hi there. I confess I haven't used wikis a lot but when I have, I have only ever used the basic Moodle wiki that comes standard, as that's what's on my school Moodle. I have no experience of the others and as I check out Moodle 2.0, I see that the new version -bigger and better than before! - takes the best of nwiki and Ouwiki, neither of which I have used.
I was wondering if anyone has done or could explain in layperson's terms what's different and better about the wiki for Moodle 2.0 (I have got the URL to the test site and also plan to install it on my test Moodle 2.0) Also - again because I am not technical - on the development page link
it talks about having a creole parser and a mediawiki like parser -and I don't know what they aresad

Moodle in English -> Testing and QA -> Quiz question in Moodle 2.0

I hope this is the right place to ask this; apologies if not.
When I set up a quiz in Moodle 2 there is the option Layout where it says "new page" and a drop down "every question/all questions on one page/every 2 questions etc" I thought this was where you set how your questions appear on the quiz but it seems it doesn't work until you have actually made a few questions -then you go back and get a tick box and a "repaginate" option. ( I know you can also repaginate from the order and paging link on the edit tab) Is this the correct behaviour? Or have I misunderstood it?

Moodle in English -> Testing and QA -> Fatal error on Moodle 2 upgrade

I have (amongst others) an online Moodle 2 looked after for me by webhost. When he upgraded me tonight to the latest version I tried to login and got this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mnet_profile_field_options() in /var/www/vhosts/MYWEBSITENAME.co.uk/httpdocs/testing/admin/settings/mnet.php on line 49

Means nothing to me -any suggestions please? Short of doing it again or reverting back to earlier version?
Thanks
