Pl. search the comprehensive Moodle Docs https://moodle.org/mod/forum/search.php?id=5 instead. See for example https://docs.moodle.org/en/Installing_Moodle_on_Debian_based_distributions.

Hi Dominique
Thanks for the great "repository"!
Thanks for the great "repository"!
I saw the notice in your profile. Still, If you own the old domain, pl. consider setting up a redirection to the new domain https://dynamiccourseware.org.
What happened in your previous try https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=439256#p1767914 ?
The powweb says Moodle 1.9.2, released in July 2008 https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Moodle_1.9.2_release_notes ? Time to give up on them.

Then "they" haven't run a single Moodle site! The Cron is a must for any Moodle site, right from version 1.0 in 2002. Not that anybody is born with experience in Moodle, but if somebody provides a commercial Moodle, that person is well-advised to read the Moodle Docs and even better, participate in these forums.

Oh, dear! Pl. see https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=437524#p1760909 ;)

Moodle in English -> Teaching with Moodle -> We need your help! We are recruiting students for user research about displaying the activity type on the course page. -> Re: We need your help! We are recruiting students for user research about displaying the activity type on the course page.

Hi Dominique
I fully agree with you that users must be involved in the whole reiteration process - not only students, but also teachers and administrators. Which begs the question, can 5-10 users cover all those?
But you've misinterpreted my comparison, "You can't discuss with the diners what the chef hasn't served!" It was not about the things the chef has served, but about the things he has _not_ served. In this particular case, the teacher uses Moodle tools like the Forum and the Assignment, without telling the student that they are Moodle tools Forum and Assignment. He gives them (longer) names describing what they do, what is relevant to the class. Simple examples, "Introduce yourself", "Upload a picture of a mountain". That the former is the Moodle Forum tool, the latter the Assignment tool are irrelevant. (Of course, if they are relevant, then the teacher can call them "Introduce yourself (Forum)", "Upload a picture of a mountain (Assignment)".
But hardly in all-caps, "FORUM Introduce yourself" or "ASSIGNMENT Upload a picture of a mountain", which Moodle 4.0 does!
