So your strategy is to invite a full palette of file management methods amoung the Moodle community and select the most suitable one for your users? I would have thought the reverse - check the requirements of your users, design a work-flow and ask the community for comments - is more targeted.

Why Sad? Those are commercial entities, their customers should get support from them. I have no powers to tell this to the others - but surely without me!

Ken, I have doubts whether these Linux veterans trying to help the Windows fallen on their feet will come out well. I (still) miss the dedicated Windows server forum, we had as late as 2007. 
Until then, I'm thinking of repeating what Emma said in the other thread.

The idea with the Database activity looks plausible, except for I don't know how to mass delete a botched import.
Database_activity_FAQ#How_can_I_empty_a_database_.2F_remove_records_from_a_database_en_masse.3F says "In List view, there is a checkbox next to each entry." Can't see such a box. See attachment.
