There is nothing wrong with Blackboard, neither with Moodle. The squares are happy in a square world, the triangles are happy in a triangular world.
The tragedy begins when a square find itself among the triangles. The solution of minimum pain (for both parties) is for the square to back to its equals.
If there is a very, very strong reason for the square have to survive among triangles, the only sustainable solution is for it to melt in to a triangle. The geeks call it "wrap your mind around". That needs a whole bunch of virtues, even with a full basket of them, be realistic that it will cause pain, mostly to the square. It will hurt the triangles too, but the pain is distributed.
