I have touched all the alternatives you've mentioned but not all long enough to compare them. I was surprised to find the oldest among them, https://moodle.org/plugins/filter_multilang2, was your favourite.


Now, not to trigger a heated discussion, I'm still thinking at a higher, the planning level, the filters and plug-ins come later. The main take for me is that the original will be outside Moodle. Just the other day we polished a word list collaboratively, by working parallel on the glossary. Convenient and immediate (web). The downside was the editing on web forms (GUI) is cumbersome compared to text (spread-sheet, text editor). And also no versioning. But that is no concern for us, the team is "exchangeable".

The other point, one could maintain tri-lingual word lists with filter tags (like mlang), that is a great input. I must test it.
