Le français n'est pas ma langue maternelle non plus, et sans assistance je fais beaucoup de fautes.

Le correctuer d'orthographe intégré n'est malheureusement pas fiable. Il faut utiliser le navigateur Firefox et son correcteur d'orthographe - beaucoup plus perfectionné. Pour cela, dans la barre d'outils il faut cliquer sur l'icône Paste from Word : 

Taper son message.

Puis, sélectionner "Vérifier l'orthographe"

Et ensuite "Français". (Il faut avoir déjà installé ce "dictionnaire" dans Firefox.)

On clique droit et le correcteur va proposer des corrections.

On clique sur ce qu'on pense être juste (le reconnaitre est plus facile que le trouver, n'est-ce pas?)

Ce correcteur n'est pas parfait non plus !!! Il ne ne propose pas "étre".

C'est un peu long à décrire, pas très rapide à faire.

Like for Tim, "For me, the biggest usability win is the fact you reply inline in the thread, so you can see all the other posts while composing your reply." That's true particularly on these Moodle.org forums as a simple "user".

When I'm managing a real course, other functionalites become just as important.

Hi John,

I didn't know about that Forum discuss subscription which "allows email subscription to discussions (threads) and not the whole forum". I haven't tried it but it sounds like a useful addition to the standard forum.

However, it's just one feature. ForumNG has that plus a whole slew of others. How many do you need before you can say it's "head and shoulders above the standard forum"?

What areas that are not covered by ForumNG (or the standard forum) would you like to see implemented?

I love your Fairy Tale Exercises! I'm putting a picture here to give an idea of how delightfully you've presented them:

And they're not only pretty - in my opinion JMix is one of the most pedagically useful exercises especially using it combined with audio files.

Unfortuately on my Mac Lion, I can't drag the little audio players. This is a Lion problem, not a Hot Potatoes or Moodle problem. Be warned, avoid Lion - it's the Mac equivalent of Vista: problems galore.
