I currently have my courses set to manual registration but I need it to be more automated...I thought I had the Paypal enrolment method set because people were paying for classes via Paypal but I just noticed that Paypal enrolment says zero and manual says 30...so apparently all my enrolments have been done manually and are not going through the Paypal method...if I'm reading this right?
So I bumped it up to the top of the enrolment methods page, because it was at the bottom of it before....so I assume that's why it's still zero? So now what happens? When someone pays via Paypal now does it allow them to immediately log in? I've had to manually enrol everyone up until now, so I would actually like a bit more automation.
Also...I am trying to figure out how to best do the adding of more courses as time goes on, and enroling the same people in these...
Here's what I mean: I have set up a cohort and add everyone into that cohort as they sign up. I only have one series of courses currently, "The Amazing Race 26". Paying for the first course pays for all 8 in the series. Since not all 8 are created yet, as each course in this series is a country the racers visit....and I don't know where they are going next until the following week...I am using the cohort feature to add all students to each new country course as I create them. So far so good. But I'm still getting new students here and there and I'd love to figure out how to automate more of this. I am hoping eventually I'll have many more students flowing in and manually figuring everything out for every student is going to get time consuming.
I hope I'm explaining this in a way that makes sense...but basically I want to not have to manually enrol every new student (I'd like to use the Paypal enrolment method PROPERLY so that it automatically enrols them after they've paid)....and I'd like to see if there's a way that students that pay for that first class (Japan) will be added to the cohort and automatically added to each new course as it's released.
Is this possible?
My eyes are blurring from trying to figure out so much here with Moodle. It's so complicated, I keep finding myself lost again! The good news is that the classes are coming along nicely and people are saying their kids are loving it....but I have a long ways to go before I have it all tweaked to my liking, I think.
