I am running a single course with 7 topics. (medical course)

Each topic has multiple pages with text. Our course is text intensive and there are several case reports which have similar symptoms.

Is there a plugin/ feature using which, the student can search a term (e.g. fever, hypertension) and the search result shows all the resources within the course that contain these terms?

[p.s. i do see a default search box but Somehow the default search box always searches within site admin only in my installation. is it a config issue? see attached screenshot]

Thanks for your time

Hi

Using moodle 1.9

We had a custome theme developed by an individual who was also managing our moodle.

When he left, the admin came to me. To my shock and surprise, the site admin block looks like this or see attachment.

Where have the remaining options gone and from where can i re-enable them?

I thhink some properties from sql db have been set to 0, but i need to know which.

Ok

So you are there at the page where main category is explained and sub-categories are shown.

You cannot insert 'activities' or 'resources' at this level, but you may very well have a workaround.

On your frontpage, enable 'Main Menu" block. This block will allow you to create ALL your faculty pages/ quizzes what have you.

Now go to category description, write the name of faculty profile or whatever and link it to this webpage/ activity/ quiz in main menu.

last step: re-hide the main menu block (don't delete it)

now you will be able to achieve what you wanted.

p.s. you may like to put a 'back' link on each faculty page so that people can go back to where they came from

Thanks Tim

Your example really makes me feel like a dimwit.

Actually we have all types of questions in Moodle quizzes like MCQ, true-false, MTF and we also create similar questions in Captivate, eXe etc.

So somewhere I assumed that if there is an import tool, it would, at the very least, be able to decipher that an MCQ needs to be imported like an MCQ and not converted to true false or something. Obviously, I was wrong. Apologies.

So i may dare to clarify that we what we want is that same questions, in same formats should now run in moodle as scorm-packaged quizzes, using any tool.

ANyway, based on your advice, I am asking this question at SCORM forum. Thanks for your help.

Moodle in English -> SCORM -> Moodle quiz to scorm

Dr S Bhatia -

Using Moodle 1.8

We have a few thousand questions in question banks

We have now got 2 more LMS in our company and we decided that all questions should now be made into scorm quizzes which can run in all 3 LMS

Problem: about 40,000 questions are locked in our moodle. How to export them so as to create scorm packages.

Constraint: We'd prefer a free tool or at least a low cost one since this will be a one time activity for us.

Thanks

S
