I thought that the end users were the students? We've been monitoring this and nearly all (85%) of our students access Moodle on mobile devices. So, I'm struggling to see why supporting huge monitors is a thing.

Anyway, I think the OP's point was that it was *possible* to do things like that. Not, whether it's a good idea assuming that you can.

There's no common reason for this that I am aware of so you're going to need to give us a *lot* more information....

For example, what is your Moodle/server environment. What authentication are you using? Do you have different types of authentication (e.g. manual and LDAP accounts)? If so, are they all slow? What have you tried (and why)? And so on....

HTTPS does, if I understand correctly, use TLS and modern TLS implementations use 256 bit encryption. So, yet again, you already have that level of encryption "for free".

As usual, I'm not at all clear what problem you (think you) are trying to fix.

Also, what sort of environment are you working in? Security is taken very seriously in Moodle but not to the extent that I would recommend using it for anything highly sensitive. It's a learning tool, not a "national security" application.
