OK, that's officially bizarre. smile The timeout is especially strange, as database setup is practically instantaneous.

After the first time through each module should be registered in the 'modules' table and so it shouldn't be trying to run the module setup again.

Yours is the first case of this so I'd suspect something about your environment, but I can't think what.

Can you drop all your tables and email me privately with your URL and config.php so I can run through the install procedure myself and see what's going on?

You are stuck in the loop because there's no point in going further without a working database.

What are the errors being printed within the page? Is MySQL set up correctly? Have you correctly specified your MySQL username/password etc in config.php?

Sorry, Jairo, what I meant was: should the teacher be able to choose what the Readings/Resources module is called in their own course?

And if so, should they be able to choose what ALL the modules are called (forums, journals, choices, assignments etc)? Or will this just lead to confusion?

So far the vote is Readings 4, Resources 10.
