SD,

Looks like you, too, have gotten past your problem with the installation script. So you probably know now that the answer to your question is no, you don't need to put anything into the Moodle data directory. Now you are getting a practically empty front page. When you click on Login you get a normal looking Login page, and when you click on Guest Login you get a totally blank page.

Might want to look at http://docs.moodle.org/en/Installation_FAQ#Why_is_a_particular_page_blank_or_incomplete.3F. Also, check that there is no extra white space or blank line(s) after the "?>" at the end of config.php in the main Moodle directory.

If I am on the tail end of this I apologize, but if you log in normally and your courses are there, and as a guest and they are not, you might have the settings on the courses set to not allow guests to register.

SD,

You haven't given any info on your server setup, like whether you are using a web hosting service, operating system, etc. So I took the liberty of doing a whois query on your domain. It looks like your registrar is godaddy.com, but your host is theplanet.com. From their web site, it looks like they provide some kind of control panel, which usually includes a File Manager, Shell Access, or at least FTP, whereby you should be able to access your files. For more info, contact their tech support.
