How easy is to change the header on the frontpage?

Check out the Theme documentation on creating your own theme for Moodle URL: http://docs.moodle.org/en/How_to_easily_make_your_Moodle_theme . There is also a Theme discussion if you have specific problems while making/modifying one here: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=46 and of course the theme database which allows you to download a theme someone else has created and modify it for your use here http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?id=6552 - check the version before using one!

In the end I added a Theme I liked the look of and then changed the header.php of the theme to assign the logo picture and the positioning of it that I wanted.
