I know where I can change my password, but
Can I as administrator change my own user name? Or do I have to set up a new account (with new username) for myself, and then delete the account with the old user name?

On the front page, go to Site Admin>users>Accounts>browse list of users and then find yourself - click on edit and you can edit your name there.
