Enrollment Key AND PayPal. Possible.
Number of replies: 5We need to set up Course A as a pre-requisite to Course B. Course B is optional. I tried Meta courses but enrollment in one automatically enrolls in the other.
I tried setting up PayPal and Enrollment key, but this is a one or the other situation. I was hoping to require both. Payment and permission with the key to enter the course.
Any ideas? I can figure out a way to make this work.
Thank you.

Re: Enrollment Key AND PayPal. Possible.
I would also like to know if this is possible.
Currently I am trying to offer one course with two prices, one price is for members of a specific organization with a discount code and the other prices is for those without the discount code.
We have had a third party programmer come in and set it up for us but unfortunately the solution doesn't seem to work. What happens is people enter a course, all the resources are hidden accept for a quiz called the preassessment. The enrollees answer two questions and based on their responses they get charged either the full price or 25% off. Both sucessfuly forward the enrollees to paypal and charge them the correct amount for the course and the payment goes through, but only those charged the full price gain access and those who pay the discount do not.
My preliminary temporary thinking was to have two course priced differently and title differently, with one course having an enrollment key acting as the discount code allowing for them to gain access to paypal to pay the discounted price. I suppose I can do that already with what the third party programmer has set up, but I'd prefer to use simply the built in features of moodle/additional plugins if possible.
Cheers

Re: Enrollment Key AND PayPal. Possible.
Your problems are a bit different.
Darrel - Hopefully you've got your courses sorted by now. The way I would do it is to make course A and B separately giving them both unique enrolment keys (or PayPal for the first course and key for the second). Then I'd add a resource to the end of course A which explains the nature of course B and gives the user the enrolment key and instructions to access it.
Alex - I did something similar for one of my sites to get PayPal Donations. The Module a wrote can be found here http://benbowler.com/paypal_donate/. It's not made for your purpose but your programmer or I could adapt it fairly easily. The Module shows a PayPal button in the sidebar, which could be replaced with the questions in your case, submitting the user to PayPal after which it shows the user the course enrolment key.
See what you think.

Happen to have a copy of it?
Re: Enrollment Key AND PayPal. Possible.
We would like to be able to do exactly as Alex Green specified here,
"... to have two course priced differently and title differently, with one course having an enrollment key acting as the discount code allowing for them to gain access to paypal to pay the discounted price."
Has anyone created a solution in the time that has elapsed since this was posted? We are currently using Moodle 2.4

Darrel,
At the end of your post you sail 'I can figure out a way to make this work' Have you succeeded? I am trying to do the same thing, and I have simply come to dead ends.
Kindest regards,
Mike
