I'm just starting on this activity module. I have a spreadsheet with over 350 MCQ. Is there a way I can import these or do I have to re-type them all

Easiest way would be to create a word document with GIFT tags. This can be linked to your spreadsheet using mail merge to convert to GIFT format. You will still need to edit each question to show correct answers, but if there is a single correct answer this should not take long. 
Thanks Colin. Can you tell me where I can find out more about the GIFT tags and how to do what you suggested? Can't find anything in Word help on GIFT.

I only started to use GIFT last week myself and it's very simple and saves a lot of time (as you can work outside Moodle a lot faster).

Did any application in particular generate the Excel file? If it is common enough it may be worth writing an import routine - especially if you would be happy to test it
