I'm a high school teacher and I just found out about this fantastic software.

Questions.

I have it installed and running.

Adding quiz questions is really tiresome.  I have to click save each time I add a question.  So I know I can import questions.  Is there a handy editor to create question files that I can import?

How do people normally create quizzes quickly from scratch?

You can create multiple questions using the GIFT format. There are some examples to be found and it is documented through the Moodle help system. If you click any help button, click the link for 'Index of all help files' and then look for Importing GIFT Format in the Quizzes section.
