my admin/index.php page cannot be displayed.

Installation went smooth, every thing was coming up successfull, during install i hit continue and it tryed to go to /admin/index.php and i get:

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

my error log says nothing i have no idea why this would do this.  any help would be great.

update:

I can log in as a student with no problems.  The problem comes in for the administrator and teacher accounts i get a blank page.

Please need help on this one.

I'm having pretty much the same problem. Smooth install but a can't display the admin/index.php page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
