For a recent assignment, I had the problem of assigning to each student randomly chosen questions from a larger question bank.
What is the best way of implementing such a situation in Moodle? What I did was list each student's personal questions in the "Comments" part of the "Submissions" page. This means at least that each student gets his or her list of questions, without knowing what anybody else is doing.
But this seems to be a slightly clumsy way of doing it - is there a better method?
Thanks,
Alasdair

Hi,
try this, add all your assignments as essay questions in a separate category in a quiz module. Choose the category with the question and set one (!) random question from this category to the quiz.

We have developed Random assignment plugin for this purpose. There, you can define multiple files and these will will be assigned randomly to students. Moreover, you can define solution files and teachers will have access to both of them. If the files are HTML, students will see them inline.
