Are you using Mac OS X?

If you are getting an "invalid metafile" error in Mac OS X please follow the instructions on this Real Player Technical Support.

No im using windows 2000. The real one player files will play on my desktop etc. but when I upload them into Moodle it keeps saying invalid metafile. I can't understand why?

Any ideas??

Did you try to open the real media
from other clients to be sure that the
error is not on your system?
Is your moodle server connected
to the internet so you can give
a link to this real media content for testing?

One of our customers uses
moodle 1.1.1 + real server + real media
with success so the problem should not
lie in moodle.

Are you linking straight to the *.rm files?. You'd be better creating, in your root directory, *.ram files. They are just text files with a *.ram extension and the only thing they contain is the absolute path to the desired *.rm file.

So, if you want .... /myvideo.rm

to play

create a text file with this single line

http://the/complete/absolute/path/to/myvideo.rm

and save it as

myvideo.ram

Hiperlink to this and your +.rm will magically stream
