Teachers seeing other groups grade

Hi All

Im very new to moodle 1.8 and have been looking through this forum for some help. Ive found some bits but was wondering if someone could helpd me out.

I am 1 of 3 teachers who each have a their own class who we teach the same course. Ive created a Word Processing course and created 3 seperate groups within the course. Each teacher has their own group which consists of only their pupils. When i log in as one of their pupils, the pupil only sees their class mates in the course and can do all the activities etc. However, when i log in as myself or another teacher. I can see all the other groups results and reports etc. Is their away to make the teacher only see thier groups results

Assuming you are on 1.7 or later.

On the admin screen, go to Users -> Permissions -> Define roles, and on the Teacher and Non-editing teacher roles, switch the 'Access all groups' capability from 'Allow' to 'Not set' .

Hi There

Im using moodle 1.8, I went to Users -> Permissions -> Define roles and for both teacher and non-editing teachers i turned Access all groups to prevent. However, when i log on as a teacher and go to Grades > Admin, within the course, i still see everyones grade.

I'll have another look

Hmm, well, it is possible that they never implemented support for groups in the old gradebook. Just to check, is your course set to 'Separate groups' mode? It will certianly work possibly in 1.9.

Hi Again

Yip the course is in seperate groups. The strange this is that when a teacher goes to Admin > Grades, they see every students grade. However, when they then press the "Download in Excel" button, they get a download of only their students (thier group)

Ah, now that sounds like a bug. If it is not already filed in tracker.moodle.org, you should add it, but search for existing bug reports first.

However, Martin and his team are more concerned about trying to get 1.9 finished, than in fixing bug in the soon-to-be-obsolete old gradebook.
