Can anyone assist me in setting up an LDAP server on windows 2003?

wow...way not enough info here about your environment. but a simple answer is: if you're talking a stand-alone server that isn't a member of a domain, simply run dcpromo and make it a domain controller in a new domain of your choosing. Then it's running Active Directory, which uses LDAP.

If you're already in an Active Directory domain, then you already have LDAP servers to query against. Search the forums for some very good posts on how to use Active Directory and the LDAP authentication module.

I kind of can. Having set it up at my school.

We're running moodle on a dedicated server which is both internal and part of our DMZ. So the hardest thing was really setting up https for our LDAP server, which we hadn't had to look at before.

We do have a separate domain controller.

Does your environment sound similar?
