Is there a way to restrict the view of Forums in moodle 1.6.4 to only registered users? And prohibit guest users from seeing Forums.

Also, we tried Moodle 1.7 but was so slow. Our MySQL was running at 150%. So we decided to go back to 1.6.

Hi Luciano, do you have MySQL running on your Intel Xserve or your PPC?
Generally, in 1.6 if you have the course open to guests they can see the forums--that content is not protected from guests if the course is open.
The solution I would recommend would be to find out what was wrong with your 1.7 install, since with 1.7 you can modify who can view forums quite nicely with the roles system.

I have it running on the PPC. Our moodle site was running so slow. We saw that MySQL was running pretty hard. So I decided to
put it back to 1.6. Any thoughts?
