Social Constructivism

Good evening all;

I am doing some additional research on Social Constructivism for a presentation I am trying to prepare for our superintendent and school board.  Can anyone point me in the direction of online resources that might provide some more indepth information aside from what is posted on the Moodle philosophy  page?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Martin Dougiamas presented a marvelous paper about this at EDMEDIA 2003. Heres a link to his paper: http://dougiamas.com/writing/edmedia2003/

I wrote an unpublished paper presenting various socialcultural theories and how they might be applied to the design of instructional environments. The paper summarizes several sociocultural theories. You can access that paper at the following link: http://www.sfu.ca/~leblanc/IDFDCLEOSCT.pdf

David,

This is a very good paper!  May I provide a download link on my web site?

Thanks for sharing,

Bryan

Thank you Bryan. By all means provide a link.

P.S. I wanted to tell you what a great job you did on the moodle PowerPoint presentation. I have adapted it along with two others from this site to prepare for an upcoming conference where I will be promoting moodle. smile

Thanks David.   I have also modified the standard presentation for my own purposes, and will include the link on both my web site and in the mini CD I distribute with my brochure.
