Journal (plugin)

Hi,
I am running the newest version of moodle. When assigning journal to the students they are not able to post to it by going to the journal and lunching "Edit" button that was there in the previous versions of moodle. They can do it only be viewing all the journals at once and clicking "Edit" button next to the one on the list. Though it works, it confuses students as they are not sure where to click to find the "Edit" button they were previously used to. Is that something new that was implemented just recently or is there a variable in configuration panel that can set it back to original. Has anybody run into this problem before?
