Roles and permissions

Hi Some students on one of my couses have informed me that they were unable to access the course area as it kept on looping back to the account/course confirmation page. I thought that possibly assigning there role of student would rectify the problem and so assigned her as this role because she didn't appear in the list of students, I noticed that the majority of students who were enrolled were not assigned as students and so assigned everyone, including myself as a parent. Now although i see that I am an administrator, it won't allow me to enter my areas and do my administrator stuff!! What can I do to:

1) cure the looping problem, I tried to register on one of the courses that require an enrollment key but it looped back to the page to enter this, and although I am enrolled on the course I can't go beyond that page
rectify this situation?

2) take off the newly assigned student role from my administrator role so I have full access to the site again.
