I didn't notice this behavior prior to our upgrade from Moodle v1.43 to 1.6.2 and IE7 does not do this.
I have text in a lesson module layed out in 2 columns to make it easier to read (using html tables). When I go back in to edit the text via the html editor, then the text mode, I find that word wrapping has caused line feeds to be inserted where I don't want them.
I prefer to use Firefox. Short of disabling the html editor, how can I get the editor to preserve the word wrapping and *not* insert its own line feeds?

PS Just checked and Camino on my Mac preserves the word wrapping just fine. That seems odd as it is also a Mozilla browser.
Text editors
Firefox removes word wrapping
