Would you like a FREE professionally-hosted Moodle site, with full administrator privileges, to use as you wish? You will be supplied with by a European Union collaboration promoting expertise in e-learning, if you are willing to help us by commenting briefly on training materials which need to be evaluated. This offer is open for a limited period only - the evaluation has to be completed in a couple of weeks - but you will be able to retain your Moodle site for a considerable time afterwards. Email martin@counihan.org for details.

Hi,
I am offering free Moodle sites to all who desire one.  There are no strings attached.

you can charge for lessons or offer them free, offer them to anyone or require people to register.

you can offer as many courses as you like, with no size (or activity) limitations.  eventually, either i will build a 'home page' for the domains or will find someone who will build one with links to all the moodle sites, and in the future, even make available some type of 'official' certificate with the domain name and your moodle name on the certificate of course completion in order to give the moodle course offerings additional credibility as well as a brand identity of sorts.

some points for people to consider:
  • i don't place any advertising on people's moodle sites
  • i don't bother people after i set up the site
  • i won't spam you, but it is possible that i may email you once and a while.
  • i am not building an email database out of your email addresses.
  • i will not give your email to others, nor will i sell it.
  • i allow anything that is legal to be offered on a moodle site
  • i will have the sites 'safe surf' rated once the home pages are created
  • there are no disk space limits
  • there are no bandwith limits
  • i offer free domain based email accounts
  • i setup subdomains for each moodle site as desired
  • i have two general education domains and one christian domain to host moodle sites
  • no credit card required
  • no identification required (unless i run into a legal reason to verify identification)
  • people can create an (anonymous) online identity for their moodle site (as long as fraud isn't being committed)
  • the moodle sites can be marketed in any way that the 'site owners' wish
after i get a few more moodle sites (and hopefully have a home page built) i'll put a link somewhere on http://TennesseeBillsOTR.com which gets indexed by google (usually) twice a day or more, so the moodle sites will get indexed at some point... much quicker than if  google and other search engines has to find it over time.

let's see if i can remember the info i need to set up a site:
  • choose your domain:
    • OnlineCommunitySchool.com >>> General Education
    • OnlineLearningAcadamy.com >>>> General Education
    • EyeOnTheCross.com   >>> Christian Teaching... to be hosted on this domain, you must be teaching salvation that is not based upon works.  if you are teaching a 'works based salvation', you can be hosted on either of the first two domains, but not on EyeOnTheCoss.com.  this one point is not open to negotiation.
  • Email Address
  • Moodle Administrator Name (Admin)
  • Moodle Site Name
  • Moodle Site Motto
  • Moodle Site Description
  • Subdomain Desired (YourSubdomain.OnlineCommunitySchool.com)
  • Domain Based Email Addresses (You@YourSubdomain.OnlineCommunitySchool.com or You@OnlineCommunitySchool.com
You may have moodle sites at more than one domain, but each site must offer different content on each domain.

This moodle request form may be emailed to:
it might take me a day or two after you email me the info i need for me to set up your site.  I will create a password for your site, and i will keep a copy 'just in case'.  when your site goes 'live', i recommend changing the password to a difficult to guess password.  you can get an idea of a difficult to guess password when you see the one i generate for you.
there is a member here, paula, that i have already set up free site for, so you can ask her to verify that this 'too good to be true offer' is real and has no strings attached.
if you are interested in old time radio, i have over 400 gigs of mp3s online for free at http://TennesseeBillsOTR.com .  when you visit, please sign the guestbook!

Hi Pam,

This appears to be a fairly old thread, so i don't know how relevant the links above still are or not. But one newer place you may want to take a look at is http://www.freemoodle.org/ It's run by one of the moodle partners in NZ (HRND NZ I think - Stuart Mealor). Depending on exactly what you are looking for this may be a place to start looking

This message was from 2009. What's the current status of a Free Moodle Site?

Please advise, thank you.
