Just upgraded to moodle 1.7 this weekend and have noticed something funny/strange with the choice module.

I’ve created a “choice” on the main page and here is what I’ve found:

  1. Students by default cannot take the choice. I had to use the “roles” option to assign all users as students so they could take the choice.
  2. If I use site settings and change “Default role for all users defaultuserroleid /label>” to students then their “Overview of my courses” shows ALL available course and not just the ones enrolled in.
  3. As site admin when I view the responses I only see mine even though it says I have more than one response.

Any ideas?

Here is what I have found.

In order to see the results of the choice I have to use roles from the site admin user group and assign students as students. It would seem that during the migration students are not considered students anymore.
