I'm currently using the message time restrictions hack to prevent students from messaging each other during the school day, but what I would ideally like is to be able to restrict messaging so that student can only message teachers and use the forums to contact each other.
Can anyone tell me if I will be able to do this using roles in 1.7?

I have the same issue..... With my sixthformers messaging is invaluable, but it is just not practical with the younger students who have access to the course....
Message HACK installs ok, but the users are not populated onto it...
There must be some way this can be done using roles
