I'd really appreciate some help here. I have been trying to get a new install on a hosted (ISP) sever. I think I have the config.php file working OK, but when I go to the admin page, it loads *really* slowly, then times out.
My ISP won' turn safe mode off, but is using some cgi method that they say won't affect me (this may be untrue, but I don't have the expertise to argue it). Could this be the problem? Any other thoughts?
I have checked all the minimum specs out, and uploaded a custom .htaccess file as suggested. Also have created moodle database and so on. After a week of messing about I am pretty much out of ideas.
