When i get "trun editing " on and the course page is fine with three columns but when i get the "trun editing" off the page is stranged to lose the right column and put the blocks in this column to the butom of the page follwoed to the central sections, which are displayed twisted thin and long.
ie.e when the address bar is "http://.../course/view.php?id=15&edit=on" it'sfine and when the address bar is "http://.../course/view.php?id=15&edit=off" it's bad behavior.
Can someone help/give me a clue to fix it?
Thanks.
Andy
First thing to check is any custom HTML you have added in *any* resources or activities. An incorrect tag in (say) an activity name can cause all sorts of grief. Just to be certain create a new, completely empty course - is the behaviour the same?
Failing that, what version of Moodle and what theme are you using? Any chance of a screen shot too?

Hi Howard:
Thanks for your response.
I use Moodle 1.5.2 and other courses on the same site are OK and I used my own theme.

Ok - that makes me almost certain that you will find some broken HTML in the resource or activity names, or in a section header or label.
Hi Hward:
You are right I found some broken links to the resources on the course page. If i delete the broken links is it possbile to fix the problem?
You know we have a few guys to edit the same course and I don't know who has added the bad HTML stuffs on. How can I avoid this happen (I have administrator's previlidge).
Thanks.

Go round and give them a slap
If that is not practical, you could *try* switching on the tidy filter - I've not got a huge amount of experience with it, but it's got to be worth a try.
EDIT:
You should be thinking about upgrading that 1.5.2! Stuff like this has steadily got better over the releases.

Hi Howard:
Thanks.
I tried to backup the course without the resources/labels/activities possibly containing broken links and restored the course as a new one, which i am sure there is no any broken links. But the situation is the same that if i get the "turn editing" off the course page is wonky as the ole one before.
Anyway Is there any way to resume the course efficiently? I really don't want to create the course from beginning.
Thanks.

Hi Howard:
I finally fixed the problem by deleting all the HTML content which could contain wrong tags from the "bad" section (the section from which the page started to be wonky) and everyhting get OK.
Thanks for your guide and clue and hope useful for other guys.
