In internet explorer, my moodle install centers all of the text on the screen, but it does not do this in firefox. I cant figure out which css setting will change the allognment of the page. The site is located at www.csuvc.com/moodle and a username is teststudent1 and the pw is studenttest1 . If anyone has some suggestions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

I see you are using the dportal theme. Maybe there is something in that theme which cause the problem.
