We have year-long high school courses in Moodle; however, we separate the grades into a fall semester grade and a spring semester grade. I'm not sure how to do that in Moodle. I understand about grade categories, but we already categorize by assessment, project, textbook questions, etc. I don't want to replace that with simply fall or spring.
