Moodle version 5.0 (hosted on MoodleCloud)
My PC OS is Windows 11.
Context:
I have built question banks of various types into various categories in a shared question bank, which sits in the shared category area (not within a course). I then built activities into a course, with quizzes that have random questions picked from these question banks.
Issue:
I'm trying to reuse these activities in another course, and maintain that random question picking functionality. So I tried using Import in the course reuse function. After picking the activities (quizzes) I want to transfer, I end up on the import page, but then get multiple errors, and the whole thing hangs. (screenshot attached)
At first, I thought it was a time thing and eventually it would solve itself, so I left it overnight to run, but I got the same result.
I tried going into the logs of the shared category, the original course in which I built the activities, and the destination course to try and find the individual questions shown in the error code, but couldn't find the question IDs in the log.
I have exported some question categories to find the question IDs, but I can't see them either.
I've read on this forum that the import tool is kinda buggy, so I'm now trying to use the Backup, then Restore route to try and get my activities to the destination course.
Anyways, the question here is, I don't mind fixing bugs in my question bank, but I wish the error message would help me locate the error.
Second, is this functionality of having a one-to-many distribution of learning content quite critical to what I'm trying to do, so any advice on this would help.
Interesting point to note that I did not encounter this issue until after the upgrade to Moodle 5.0, which was executed by MoodleCloud (and which inadvertently moved my questions from system level to shared category level).
Hopefully, the backup/restore method works. At the moment, it encountered similar errors, but the progress bar is still going...
I'm not 100% sure what might be causing this issue, but it would be interesting to have a look at some of those questions in your error list. The system is showing the questionid number which you could use to investigate.
As you rightly pointed out, Moodle 5.0 reorganizes the question banks making them a bit more flexible and able to be more easily shared between courses without having to use the System or Course Category.

Somewhere I saw that there was a Tracker Bug for this problem. It seemed to involve Moodle's that were upgraded from 4.5 to 5.0, and courses that used randomly selected quiz questions. Sorry that I can't point you to the specific Tracker item, or if my memory is incorrect.
