I recently attended a meeting where I saw a demonstration of a custom Learning Management System (LMS) that had integrated development environments like Visual Studio Code and Programmiz embedded directly into their platform. I'm curious to know if Moodle supports similar IDE integration capabilities for teaching embedded programming. Are there any compatible IDE plugins or solutions available for Moodle?
I am fairly sure the answer to that is no. Though I would be interested to know more about that system as it might be possible to build plugin to integrate an IDE. But that would cost a mix of time and or money.
Moodle has at least two excellent ways of programmatically evaluating programming tasks across a range of programming languages without using AI. I mention that because I am very interested in the use of AI in Moodle but very aware of its ability to give clear, concise impressive answers that are entirely wrong.
I may now test out my own Moodle AI tool with some programming tasks to evaluate my comment.
