Could you vote for my Course Index issue on the tracker please? I recently revisited an earlier post I had made and realised I needed to give a clearer explanation.
Essentially, when navigating through the accordion menu in the lefthand Course Index, the current state of a collapsed or expanded item is not read out to the screen reader user. Instead the next action they might wish to take is read out. So for example, if a Course Index item is collapsed, "expand" is read by the screen reader. This can be confusing for the user as can lead them to think the item is expanded when it is collapsed.
We think it would be better if the current state of an accordion item is read out first and then the action of expand or collapse is read out if they go to activate it.
Also, when the user expands an item with the space bar, you hear "space" and not "expanded" and when the user repeats the action you hear "space" again and not "collapsed".
