Hi there,

I have ust gone through the installation process using

Installation guide for Windows using XAMPP

and I now can access moodle via http://localhost/moodle

My question is how do I move this onto my web server/domain, so that I can access it online.

Thanks in advance

For that, a number of steps are necessary:

- You have to own a domain, like yourcompany.com or yourschool.ac.uk or whatever. If that doesn't exist yet, you have get it from the corrosponding registrar, usually by paying.

- During registration, you'll have to give the name of a domain name server. It should contain an entry assigning yourmoodleserver.yourcompany.com to a certain IP number.

- The machine with that (public) IP number will now get the requests from the webbrowsers of your users. The server may sit anywhere on the net.

- Obviously it must host your Moodle.

If this is the first time you hear all this, you need external support.
