I downloaded the entire Moodle install, including the moodledata folder, and then uploaded it to the QA server. After the upload was complete, I opened the config.php file and modified the wwwroot to reflect the new location for the QA site. I had our database administrators duplicate the mySQL database from the dev to the QA and finally to the deployment site. All is an exact copy.
When I go to my browser and launch the QA site, all looks OK until I try to log-in. When I do, the screen just returns to the main "home page" and indicates that I'm not logged in. When I try to log in again, the log-in screen says "Your session has timed out. Please login again."
I just can't figure this out. The original Dev site still works just fine.
I'm hoping someone can point me to ther right direction on this one since the site is supposed to be "pushed" from the QA site to the live site tomorrow!
BTW: I did try to switch to a different browser just in case there was a problem with some stored cookie. I don't think that's the problem since the same log-in error exists when going directly to the new QA site.
We operate a similar environment for our courses, we have a devmoodle, a live moodle and an archive moodle.
I move our courses between the sites by carrying out a backup, move the backup file to the production site and then restoring it. I also do the same process when archiving the course.
So long as all 3 moodle sites are set up in a similar way then there is no problem.
Thank you all for your help!
