Using the Bulk Edit Activity Completion feature -

I select activities that the student will need to view/completion quiz with passing grade.

Review the acknowledgement that the selected activities will be marked reset for the students.

Activity completion's view displays the activities editing are displayed as completed - Admin cannot reset a completed activity using the Bulk Edit Activity Completion feature.

Sidenote this feature should be renamed to be more specific or unique name as the Bulk Edit feature available as of 4.2 is confusing. A better name might be, "Activity Completions-Bulk Editing".

Hello Shirley. I am not entirely sure this isn't expected behaviour - I mean that - if someone has completed an activity then it isn't fair to "uncomplete it". If for example you have to change course completion settings then once you have changed them, the system recalculates and anything that was completed previously is marked as complete again -except for manual completion , which the student has to click on once again. I might be wrong but I had always assumed that the setting Bulk edit activity completion was for when you were setting up a course and you didn't want (for example) the admin's default setting on all your Pages (for example) so you just bulk changed them to what you wanted. I hadn't considered it as a way of resetting completed activities.

Hello Mary,
I should have been more specific. I do this process after I have backed up and restored an existing course, and some of the activities (URLs) were updated with new content. I use the Course Reset to reset the quiz attempts and grades for all students.
The goal is to have the students to review the updated content and complete a one question attestation (T/F) that they read and understood the materials.
This has worked well in previous Moodle since 2017. I had done this hundreds of times for large courses with multiple URL activities.

Reviewing the Moodle documents - there doesn't seem to be information on the Bulk Edit feature.

I see, thanks Shirley. Re the docs - Bulk edit is in the activity completion documentation, not course completion. Activity completion settings (in the Course activity default settings section)
