I am using moodle for online courses, now we want to add live lectures in moodle. I was thinking about rewriting chat room and add neccessory functionality for online classes. We will use windows media services for audio. Teacher will use windows media encoder to deliver the lecture and students will use windows media player to listen to the audio. Students will not be able to talk they can ask question via chat. When all the students and teacher will be logged into the chat room, teacher will start voice from the encoder and press a start voice button in the chat room. His action will invoke start media player function on students side and media player on students side will automatically be launched and they will start hearing the teacher.
Looks simple! But I need suggestion about what things I can use other then media services and how I can integrate live lectures on moodle.
