Let me clarify a keyword, I used inappropriately. The term "block" in my post is called "topic" in Moodle terminology. Moreover I learnt that there are Moodle versions that allow bulk selection. This could help in my case. Unfortunately the version of Moodle I forced to use as a "teacher" does not show such a feature.
