I am considering launching a small moodle instance to deliver workplace training. The instance only needs to server 20 concurrent users out of a pool of approximately 500.
I have advised that running the database on a seperate server from the application will help improve security.
Does anyone have any views as to whether taking this approach will make any material difference to security or what the downsides might be?
Many thanks
Running the database on a separate server may help with performance, but generally not with security. For simultaneous 20 users having it all on one machine is fine.
Thanks Marcus, much appreciated.
