Our system is set up to only send login instructions and credentials to NEW accounts. However, as we have added more courses to our offering, we have "returning" students enrolling in different courses (sometimes a year or more after a previous course) and Moodle doesn't send them any confirmation email (since they aren't new accounts). Even if I can't configure Moodle to generate and email new login credentials, it would be very helpful to send SOME confirmation email containing a link to the login page and instructions for resetting their password.

If you are using Self Enrollment, there is an option to send a class welcome email and it is editable...
