I'm looking into a different Single view report issue and found out that pressing Ctrl + arrow keys can help you navigate the grading table's inputs. It seems to work on Windows, Linux and Mac (but using Cmd + Ctrl + arrow keys).
This has been added in MDL-51900 which was included in the Moodle 3.1 release.
So hopefully this will somehow help users who want to navigate the grade table in a vertical manner.
