we have Moodle installation with Galera MariaDB cluster,
we have Moodle installation with Galera MariaDB cluster,
Sometimes we face database locks issues when Moodle asks for " TRUNCATE TABLE", and the cluster node needs to be restarted to free the locks!
as following:
Waiting for table metadata lock TRUNCATE TABLE mdl_hvp_libraries_hub_cache ,
acquiring total order isolation TRUNCATE TABLE mdl_hvp_libraries_hub_cache
We know galera has DDL limitations (https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb-galera-cluster-known-limitations/+comments/2704) ,
and TRUNCATE TABLE has its issues and limitations as they mentioned.
Moodle does not take into account this problem with the Galera, and does not consider it to exist!! What is the solution in your opinion??
