Gradebook for Ontario Secondary Schools

Gradebook for Ontario Secondary Schools

Hi,

I am trying to set up gradebook to comply with Ontario secondary school grade requirements and it is quite challenging.

70% of the grade must come from course work  (multiple assessments weighted differently) and 30% of the grade must come from culminating assessments (in my case 20% a culminating project & 10% a final exam).

To make things more complicated, it must be possible to enter up to 4 different categories for each of the assignments that make up the 70% course work. These categories would default to 25% each of the total grades that make up the 70%.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is hard for me to know exactly what would work for you, but you could experiment with the grade book and see if you are getting what you want. I began mocking this up in Moodle 4.2, and have something like this (below). I haven't experimented with it, but I am thinking that this might be the beginning of what would work. The grade items are placeholders for actual activities.

Moodle's grade book is both very powerful and a bit complicated.
