Finding files to delete them

Hi We were trying to free up some space on our moodlecloud.

In the file list we've got a few of these, but we don't know how to remove them.

The PDF viewer on the grading page doesn't seem to work on our site so was hoping there was a way to turn it off.

Hi Sam,

The file list usually indicates what type of resource and what course the file is in (but you still need to find the specific resource within that course). However, according to your screenshot, the location is identified as 'core', so would you please raise a support ticket from your MoodleCloud portal for further assistance with this.

In general, to delete files that are associated with resources and activities in Moodle, removing the resource would remove the files. If you want to view and delete unused files from resources (but not remove the resource):
  • open the relevant resource,
  • select 'Settings' from the menu,
  • select 'Manage files' from the Atto editor toolbar (as per screenshot), which will open the 'Manage files' pop-up - here you will see used and unused files (unused files can be deleted).

With regard to the PDF viewer on the grading page (Annotate PDF feedback plugin), this can be omitted as an option when setting up assignments, or the plugin can be disabled in
  • Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Assignment - Feedback plugins - Manage assignment feedback plugins

Kind regards,

Barbara
