Hi,

I think this has been asked before, but I can't find any answer, and find it odd there is no permission for it.

I want a system role that allows users to view users and loginas, but not edit the profile. But the only permission I can find that affects it is:

moodle/user:update

Which remove the whole 'Browse list of users' option completely.

Anyone found a work around?

It is exactly what I was going to ask now in the forums.
However, login as is incompatible with your request not to edit profiles. If you login as a student you can edit your own profile, so you would have left that possibility open.
I want a user who can go to MYSITE/admin/user.php without the ability to edit the profiles of other users.
But if you remove moodle/user:update, they lose access to that page.
Please can anyone reply?
I am sad that nobody replied to you since March last year... it looks abandoned, not good for Moodle.
