Send an Email/message upon enrolment

Is it possible to send an Email / Message upon enrolment? We have used this plugin for a while but it tries to load all cohorts in a pulldown menu.

The size of our Moodle doesn't allow the cohorts to be loaded in a pull down menu (42300 cohorts) and that makes that this plugin crashes.

Is there another way?

Hi Richard,
try the plugin "pulse": https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_pulse
You can use it sending a course welcome message upon enrolling into the course.

Hi Nicole,

I downloaded the Pulse plugin and wrote the course invitation upon enrollment.

Then I enrolled a learner, but she never got the invitation. 
The mail notification on her account is active.
Do you have any idea why the invitation wasn't sent?

Hello Sivan,

is the activity "pulse" Pulse will send a notification once it becomes available to the student.
So please check whether the course / the section / the activity itself is available or still hidden/not yet started.

It's ok now, the problem was that the cron wasn't running.
